Synopsis

Montreal 2002. Around fifty beginning and divorced, Rémy is at the hospital. Its Louise ex-wife urgently points out their Sebastien son, who makes a brilliant career in London. Sebastien hesitates - his father and he do not have anything any more to be said for a long time - then ends up agreeing to come with his been engaged French to give a knack to his mother.

As of his arrival, Sebastien leaves no stone unturned to obtain a clear diagnosis on the health condition of his father and to soften the tests which await Rémy. He will use of his imagination, will play of his relations, will hustle the system in all possible ways and will have recourse to the bribes, inter alia illegal tactics, to get for his father better conditions… and a little happiness.

Meanwhile, parents, friends and amantes affluent with the bedside of Rémy to offer their support to him or to regulate their accounts… and to think of their own existence. With the number of the visitors, one finds several members of the merry band which marked the past of Rémy. What did they become? Divorced Rémy since about fifteen years, did Louise manage to forget it and remake her life? Did Pierre, whose little of self-esteem prohibited to him to reproduce, finally line up? Until where the carnal impulses of Diane it carried out it? Against which coils from now on Dominique, who did not have any scruple to heat his bed with the husbands of his friends? And is Claude, the homosexual one, always subjected to his irrepressible instinct of hunter?

Whatever the way that they followed, these intellectuals did not lose their taste for the conversation skilful and délicieusement disrespectful. As for Rémy, the hour of the assessment sounded. During touching scenes and dialogs - in particular with his/her new doped friend with whom it maintains a relation symbiosis and with an attaching nun and full with sharp and penetrating spirit - Rémy carries an ingenuous glance on its excesses and its gaps. But will this introspection be sufficient to cause the reconciliation of Rémy with his/her son, who represents all that he scorned in his own father?
