the Cross-with-Mines is a common French, located in the department of the the Vosges and the area Lorraine.

Geography

The commune occupies the high one and narrow valley of the Morte , a left affluent of the Fave. It culminates with the Rossberg . The relief justified the dispersion of the settlement in several hamlets, Behouille , Chipal , the Large Drops and Sadey being the principal ones.

History

The mines of money, Copper and mercury were worked as of Xe century for the benefit of the monasteries of Moyenmoutier and Saint-Dié. The mines seem to be left more or less with the abandonment after 1670, the farmers of the king who not finding their account more there.
