Cousin (Seychelles)
The island Cousin is a ic small island Granit of 27 hectares of the Archipel of the Seychelles.
Private property until in 1968, it sheltered a plantation of Cocotier S; it was repurchased with its owner by the National council for the Protection of the birds. It is now a Natural reserve.
It nest there several species of Oiseau X with the shelter of the Prédateur S; including three rare species:
- the warbler of Seychelles ( Acrocephalus seychellensis )
- the Foudi of Seychelles or Tok-tok ( Foudia sechellarum )
- the turtle-dove of Seychelles ( Streptolia picturata rostrata )
Only the Mammifère S existing is the hare ( Lepus nigricolis ), introduced India in 1920 and a bat (Pteropus seychellensis).
The Cousin island is also one of the rare sites of laying of the overlapping Tortue or this one is in increase in manpower.
