Coupe de France of football 2006-2007
The Coupe de France 2006-2007 saw to clash 6.577 clubs amateurs and professionals through France. It was the 90e edition of the cut of France, of which the finale was held with the Stade de France, on May 12th, 2007. This edition saw gaining the team of FC Sochaux vis-a-vis the Olympique of Marseilles, on the null score of 2-2 and 5-4 with the shootings with the goals. It was the second consecutive final of Coupe de France lost by the OM. On the other hand it was the second Coupe de France gained by Sochaux, the 1st tonic at 1937.
Course of the competition
The cut is divided into a total of fourteen turns, where, each division enters to one. It is a system with direct elimination where a team is eliminated when it loses a match. The clubs evolving/moving in District or in a regional league enter at the time of the first or second round. The teams of CFA2 arrive at the third turn; those of CFA to the fourth; those of National to the fifth; those of League 2 with the seventh; those of League 1 with the ninth (thirty-second of finale).
In the event of equality, a prolongation is played and so insufficient, a meeting of shootings to the goal.

Thirty-second of finale
The matches of the thirty-second of finale were played the 5, 6 and January 7th 2007. The 20 teams of league 1 made their entry on the lists. Among the clubs of the elite, Rennes, Auxerre, Saint-Etienne, Lorient, Nancy and Troyes were eliminated. The largest surprise came from Romorantin (National) which left the Stage of Rennes. And once more, the club of Calais RUFC (CFA) eliminated a club from the first division: FC Lorient.
Sixteenth of finale
The matches of sixteenth of finale were played the 20 and January 21st 2007. No large surprise was to announce, so that one finds oneself with 11 clubs of the elite in eighth of finale after eliminations of Mans, Toulouse and Nice.
Eighth of finale
The matches of the eighth of finale were played the 30 and January 31st 2007. The large surprise came from Montceau-the-Mines, CFA, which eliminated the vice-champion from France, Bordeaux, with the shootings with the goal. The shock between the OM and the OL showed a victory of Marseillais 2-1 with the Cycle-racing track.
Quarterfinals
The matches of the quarterfinals were played the 27 and February 28th 2007. Montceau the Mines (CFA) created the exploit by eliminating the second from Ligue 1, Lens. The single goal of the part was marked on penalty with the 79e minute.
Semi-final
The matches of the semi-final were played the 17 and April 18th 2007. The adventure ended for Montceau-the-Mines, beaten by Sochaux. The amateurs held more than 90 minutes before yielding during the prolongation. On its Marseilles side eliminated Nantes and thus finds the Stade de France for the second consecutive year.
Finale
The final took place with the Stade de France with Saint-Denis, the May 12th 2007.
FC Sochaux carried it 4-5 with the shootings with the goal vis-a-vis the Olympique of Marseilles, after having made tie two goals everywhere. By gaining their second Coupe de France the sochaliens were qualified for the first tower of the UEFA Cup 2007-2008.
It should be noted that in curtain raiser the final of the Coupe Gambardella had taken place which is the equivalent of the cut of France for the players of less than 18 years. The young people of Sochaux had already beaten those of Auxerre 2-2, 5-4 tàb., while returning twice to equality, that is to say exactly the same scenario that the pros vis-a-vis the OM succeeded. It is the second time after Saint-Etienne (in 1970), which a club carries out doubled the Coupe de France/Coupe Gambardella.
