The county of Upshur (English: Upshur County ) is a county located in the North-East of the State of the Texas at the the United States. It is named in the honor of Abel Parker Upshur, a American Secretary of State. The seat of the county east Gilmer. According to the census of 2000, its population is of: 35291 inhabitants.
The county has a surface of: 1535 km ², of which: 1522 km ² on the terrestrial surfaces.
