Country of Trough
The Pays of Trough is a natural area of Normandy, with horse on the departments of the Calvados and the Orne, and which also includes a small sector of the the Eure (western of the Canton of Cormeilles: valley of the Calonne). It includes/understands the cantons of: Cabourg, Dozulé, Trouville-on-Sea, Honfleur, Troarn, Cambremer, Pont-l'Ev4eque cheese, Blangy-the-Castle, Mézidon-Canon, Lisieux, Saint-Pierre-on-Divine, Livarot, Orbec, Trun, Vimoutiers, Exmes and Gacé.
The Gentilé of the country of Trough is Augeron (female Augeronne ), its speech the Augeron.
It corresponds to the basin of the Touques. This scrap-metal area, whose boroughs and villages bear the names of Camembert, Livarot, Orbec and Pont-l'Ev4eque cheese, with its cows, its apple trees, its thatched cottages, is regarded as the prototype of the Norman country.
Several of its cities and its beaches have a national and even international fame: Deauville, Trouville-on-Sea, Cabourg, Honfleur, Lisieux…
Beside the agricultural and food activities (Cider, apple-brandy, derived from milk), the attraction of the country and the proximity of the Île-de-France ensure a great tourist importance to him.
The Country of Trough is classified Pays of Art and History.
