Cossacks of Terek
The military community of the Russian Cosaques of Terek was created in 1577 by reclassified Russian Cosaque S free the Volga towards the river of Terek.
The Cossacks lived in the areas punts of the Chetchnia. (During this time Tchétchènes lived in the areas of the south-west of mountains of Chetchnia. They started to be moved with the areas punts of Chetchnia with 18 and 19 centuries.)

In 1920, some of the Cossacks of Terek were expelled by the Bolsheviks towards the Ukraine and Scandinavian European Russia. The people of mountains were encouraged to seize the villages of the Cossacks (stanitsas), who lost a considerable part of their population. The territory of the Cossacks of Terek was divided into autonomous Soviet socialist republics of Dagestan, Chetchnia - Ingouchie and Scandinavian Ossetie.
In 1991-1994 the Cossacks of Terek were subjected to repressions of the mode of Dudaev, which seized the capacity as Chetchnia. The areas of Nadteretchnij, Naurskij and Shelkovskoj of the Republic of Chetchnia practically lost in integrality the traditional population Cossacks. The majority of the Cossacks were opposed to the Tchétchènes nationalists at the time from both wars of Chetchnia.
