Cosmos 954

Cosmos-954 was the code name of a Soviet Satellite-espion.

History

• 1978 : First nuclear space incident: the Soviet nuclear reactor satellite Cosmos-954 leaves its trajectory, penetrates in the atmosphere and disintegrates in an isolated region of the Territories of the North-West in Canada. Beginning of the operation “Morning Light”: Canadian and American scientists find radioactive remains and the nuclear reactor.
