Constitutional court
A constitutional court is a body charged to ensure the effective primacy of the Constitution which is, according to the theory of Hiérarchie of the standards, the supreme standard. It is thus appropriate, to ensure the Rule of law to check the conformity of the laws by a control.
The model of the Constitutional court was spread at the XX century in the whole world, with an organization and countervailing powers of a great diversity. Thus the control of the laws can be made a priori or a posteriori . Sasine can be held for certain authorities, or opened with the private individuals. Lastly, certain courses have other jurisdictional attributions (in the electoral field for example) or administrative.
This model is opposed to the American system, where the conformity of a law is done at the time of a litigation, under the authority of a Supreme court.
