Concrete-mixer

A concrete-mixer is a machine being used to mix the various components of the mortar (Ciment or Chaux, sand, water) or of the Béton.

Remarque: the word concrete mixer is sometimes employed in the place of concrete-mixer , but it is about a Barbarisme.

Concrete-mixer for the private individual and do-it-yourself

The basic model approximately weighs a few tens of kilos for an obstruction of 1m X 1m X 1,5m and includes/understands:
* a Tank tilting thanks to a
, hand wheel * a Driving thermal or electric,
* a Frame provided with wheels.

The various components of the mortar or the concrete are mixed in the tank thanks to its rotation and with the presence of wings whose role is to mix the various components

Concrete batching and mixing plant

On the ready-mixed concrete production sites or on the large building sites one uses concrete batching and mixing plants There exist many types of power station but they are always characterized by a horizontal or vertical mixer.

Large models of building site do not have wheels and are moved by crane.

Specific models

There exist concrete-mixers assembled on truck, manufacturing with the request the concrete on the building site: the components remain separate in various tanks and mix with the back of the truck, at the time of being used, in a screw fuller.

Transport of the concrete

On the building site the transport of the concrete between the power station (or the truck spinning top) and the work is done using a pump (fixed or on truck) or of a skip concrete pouring raised using a crane

In the absence of concrete-mixer, or for large volumes, it is possible to buy ready-mixed concrete. Camion S called spinning tops are used to transport the concrete since the concrete batching and mixing plant to the building site. They maintain thanks to the rotation of their tank the consistency of the concrete which they transport.
