Composition to be it in ancient Egypt

For the Egyptians of the Antiquity, the being was composed of several elements:

  • the Djet (or sab ): the physical body, which becomes Khat if it is not momifié after the Mort;
  • the : improperly translated by heart , the bâ is a spiritual principle which takes its take-off with dead the late one;
  • the Ka: the spiritual double which is born at the same time as the human one and which survives after death;
  • the Shout (or shouyt ): shade;
  • the Ren: the name, part paramount to be it. Without name, there is to be no more. The obliteration of the name was a great punishment which condemned the criminals to the lapse of memory.
  • Finally the Akh: the spiritual being, the clearness which lives with the sky near the god Re after death.

It was primoridial to preserve the integrity to be it after death, which explains all the Rite S (momification, opening of the mouth, etc) carried out on the late one so that all these elements remain plain in the Au-delà.
