Pierre Marchand (1939 - 2002) is a great figure of the French edition. It created the Jeunesse sector of the editions Gallimard in 1972 and until in 1999 directed it, in particular creating the famous collections “the Book of” and “Discovered”. He died on April 4th, 2002.
