Clicquot (organ)
The dynasty of the Clicquot is a famous family of organ builders (or organiers ) originating in Rheims and benches in Paris with 17th and 18th centuries.

Robert Clicquot (1645-1719) built many instruments in the Paris region and in Normandy : Vault of the castle of Versailles (restoration Bushel Cattiaux 1995), Saint-Quentin and Saint-Louis-of-Invalids with Paris, cathedral of Rouen.

Louis-Alexandre Clicquot , wire of Robert. He builds the organ of the church Saint-Jacques-Saint-Christophe of Houdan in 1734 (oldest organ of Île-de-France still under operation) and that of Rozay-in-Brie.

François-Henri Clicquot (1732-1790), wire of Louis-Alexandre and brother-in-law of Lépine, had the title of organ builder of the king. With died of his father, it takes again the family workshop by restoring the instruments built by its ancestors. Saint-Gervais carried out very important work in 1758 constitutes one of its very first building sites. It builds then the monumental organ of Saint-Sulpice (64 plays) then that of Saint-Nicolas-of-Fields and the church the St. Lawrence. Its fame extends in whole France. The instruments which it builds are famous for the splendor of their harmony, the color of their plays of flute and the roundness of the batteries of sheers. They count among the most beautiful masterpieces of the “French traditional organ”. Its name remains still today among most known of the invoice of organ thanks to the instruments of Souvigny (1782) and of the Cathédrale Saint-Pierre of Poitiers (1790), his last masterpiece.
