Clermont is a city located in the province of the Queensland, in Australia. It counts 5000 inhabitants. The city is located at 274 km in the south-west of Mackay, with the crossing of the highways Gregory and Peak Down .
History
Clermont founded at the time of was discovered of gold and copper in the area. In the Années 1880, an important population Chinese is established to work in the mines, which because of the racial riots after which the Chinese were driven out (1888). A flood occurred in 1916 which killed 65 people.
