Claude Dablon
Claude Dablon (1618-1697) is a known Canadian Jesuit for his work missionaries close to the Higher Lac.
Missionary with Tadoussac in 1642, it left Quebec on September 19th, 1655 with the Père Chaumonot to go to Onontagué, countries of Iroquois higher. In May 1661, it went with the Druillètes father, to make a mission at the Kilistinons, going up Saguenay, until the Lac Midsummer's Day. It made the mission of the Holy Spirit, with the Higher Lac, with the Père Inlays in 1668, and it establishes that of the Sault Sainte-Marie.
He wrote in 1671 and 1672 two relations, which contain on the country locate-in the west and the north of Quebec of the details of great importance. He was at that time vice-chancellor of the college of Quebec, and superior of the missions of News-France, posts that he occupied in 1693. He dies in 1697.
