Claude Chifflet , born with Besancon on July 14th 1541, died in Dole on November 15th 1580.
He studied the right to Bourges where he was the pupil of the famous Jacques Cujas. He became law professor at the university of Dôle and cut a very great reputation of lawyer. He wrote on substitutions, the divisions, the made fidéi, and also dealt successfully of Numismatique and history. One owes him a work entitled De Ammiani Marcellini vita and libris (Leuwen, 1627), and an essay De Antiquo numismatist .
