Ciudad Real
Ciudad Real is a town of Spain located at 200km in the south of Madrid, capital of the homonymous province, in the autonomous community of Castille it Manche.
Ciudad Real is divided into principal districts: Ciudad Real, Las Put, Valverde and Poblachuela.
Ciudad Real is not a very dense city, rare are the houses to be had more than two floors (except in the new districts of the south). The small lanes, strewn with houses on only one floor, are very typical of this part of Spain and are very picturesque. The weather been very hot in summer and rare are the houses deprived of air-conditioners there.
The city, equipped with a university, preserves important historical vestiges, like the church San Pedro (Saint Pierre), the cathedral, the door of Tolède…
Since the middle of the years 1990, the city is not any more but at one hour of train of Madrid. The construction of an international airport is in hand. It will be about the Aeroport Madrid-On, the first international airport of Spain entirely financed with private funds.
The economy of the city rests on the wood size, leather, ceramics and textile industry. The gastronomy comprises some famous dishes like the pisto manchego, the caldereta, the tiznao, the asadillo.
The July 31st is day of popular holiday (Pandorga), the August 15th is the day of the Virgin (processions take place in the city)
The watery park, the various museums, the shopping malls and the place of the bulls are the principal places of leisure of the city.
