Chungcheong
The Chungcheong is one of old the Eight provinces of Korea, during the Dynastie Yi, also known as dynasty of Joseon. It was located at the south-west of the Korea and its capital was Gongju, which was the capital of the kingdom of the Baekje of 475 with 538.
Partition of Chungcheong
In 1896, Chungju and the districts is of Gongju are assembled to form the province of the Chungcheong of North. The Hongju and the western districts of Gongju are assembled to form the province of the Chungcheong of the South. Chungcheong of North and the South form today part of the South Korea.
