This is the chronology of the Affaire Clearstream 1.
2001

February 28th, 2001: Left the book Révélation$ and diffusion on March 1st of the film the Dissimulators on Canal+ with 22:00. Clearstream notified in Canal+ its opposition to the diffusion of the report, mentioning that it carries reached to its reputation.

March 2001: Hearing of Ernest Backes and Denis Robert by the French parliamentary mission. Clearstream and of the banks blamed in the book deposit a series of complaints against the authors and the editor.

May 9th, 2001: the judges Eva Joly, Renaud Van Ruymbeke, Jean de Maillard, Bernard Bertossa and Benoît Dejemeppe sign a platform in Le Monde entitled the “block boxes” of financial universalization , affirming that “ it is time to take the mesure ” of the “impact” of the “book of the journalist Denis Robert and the Luxembourg former executive Ernest Backes Revelation”.

May 11th, 2001: the justice of the Grand Duchy (Luxembourg) opens legal information on Clearstream.

May 15th, 2001: the president of this financial institution, Andre Lussi, is accused. He “is dismissed” with immediate effect with two other members of the Management, the adviser Carlos Salvatori and the director of human resources, Robert Masso. André Roelants (former president of the directory of Dexia-Bil) replaces André Lussi. Officially, Lussi is suspended of its functions only “the time of the judicial enquiry”, and the final nomination of Roelants is explained by the fact why “ Clearstream cannot function without true CEO at one time when many strategic choices must be taken and which the market is moving ”.

July 9th, 2001: The substitute of the Parquet floor anti-bleaching of Luxembourg, Carlos Zeyzn, publishes an official statement which is delayed on the assertions of a “ H.  witness; ”, but Clearstream of all “  clears; bleaching systématique ”. The investigation continues.

September 15th, 2001: The witness H., Governed Hemple, former vice-president of clearstream, deposits in front of Vincent Peillon and Arnaud Montebourg and tells how thousands of transactions were unobtrusive computers after being carried out.

2001 : Following the publication of Révélation$ , the European deputies Harlem Desire (PS), Glyn Ford and Francis Wurtz (PCF) requires of the European commission if the directive of the June 10th, 1990 (91/308 EC) regulating the financial activities is well applied to the Luxembourg. Harlem Désir shows the Menatep bank to hold a “ count not déclaré ” at Clearstream and reproach of the “grave offenses” on the use of financial systems to bleach capital. According to him, “amounts much higher than the authorized ceiling were transfered on accounts of Clearstream” and worms of the centers Offshore. The European Commissioner Frits Bolkestein answers them that “ the Commission does not have any reason to date to believe that the Luxembourg authorities do not apply it directive vigoureusement ”. The three European deputies then publish a press release asking for the opening of a European investigation relating to the application of the directive in question.

October 2001: Denis Robert receives a third listing of 33 340 accounts of Clearstream

December 10th, 2001: The Deutsche Börse Clearing, which manages the Bourse of Frankfurt, repurchases 100 % of Clearstream.
2002

* January 22nd, 2002: the deputies Arnaud Montebourg and Vincent Peillon make public the Information paper by the mission of information common on the obstacles to the control and the repression of the financial delinquency and the bleaching of the capital to Europe , whose third section of the fifth volume of the first volume is entitled: political dependence of Luxembourg with regard to the economic sector of finance: the business Clearstream .

2003

October 1st, 2003: A judgment of the Court of Bankruptcy of Paris déboute Clearstream in all its requests. Applicant to be defamed by the revelations of Denis Robert in his book the block box and during the emission Everyone speaks about it of March 2nd, 2002 on France-Television, it claimed the sum of 500  to him; 000 € of damages. Clearstream also attacked the chairman of the public channel and the organizer of the emission. The magistrates considered that the information revealed on the activities of dirty money laundering of Clearstream “serious and was recut, deprived of animosity and was expressed with prudence”.
