Christian Otte

Christian Otte , born with Theux the September 30th 1943, deceased with Liege the September 12th 2005, was a painter and figurative Dessinateur Belgian. It was formed with the Academies of Brussels and Liege. He taught the drawing with the Académie of the Art schools of Liege.

Regarded as a draftsman except par, his sketches and drawings are of effects remarkable and of a completely exceptional quality. The face of its " croqués" returning absolutely all the psychology or the distress of the moment, the body generally treated in " not finito".

" The drawing is the first of the languages.

Whereas the first expressive gesticulations of the child are lost forever in space, their first finger marks on the mist of the panes, in sand are lived like one magic moment, a first and ridiculous victory against time, a trace of their feelings in the matter. At the nursery school, the drawing is king (…) alas the chopper falls as of the entry in primary education (…)

My role consists in helping (my pupils) to find confidence in their own language so that can be restored connection between themselves and traces it their gestures, so that their drawings become again carrying their feelings.

It is thus especially at a school of the attention, curiosity that I invite them. It is the attention, the deepening of the things which, inter alia, differentiates the men. Between the silly thing, the intelligence, the talent, the genius, it has only one difference in attention there, of will to include/understand (…) "
