Christopher Keith Irvine (born on November 9th, 1970 in Manhasset, in the State of New York, the United States), better known under the name of Chris Jericho , is a Canadian actor, radio presenter, TV host, singer of a group rock'n'roll (Fozzy) and Catch eur. Chris Jericho is mainly known for its appearances with federations of fights such as the World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and with the World Wrestling Federation/Entertainement (WWF, from now on known under name WWE), where he was the very first champion heavy truck of the uncontested World (Undisputed World Heavyweight Champion) of the WWF and the very last Champion Heavy truck of WCW (WCW World Heavyweight Champion). He also holds the record of the greatest number of acquisition of the Intercontinentale belt of WWF/WWE (WWF/WWE Intercontinental Champion) with 7 times. He is currently with the WWE.

His/her father, Ted Irvine, is a former player of the National league of hockey (LNH). The name of Jericho artist was not directly inspired by the old biblical city of Jericho, but by an album heavy metal entitled " Walls off Jericho" by the German group Helloween.

Its beginnings

Chris Jericho was pulled by Keith Hart with the professional camp of fight of Stu Hart with Calgary, in Alberta from June to September 1990. Between its professional beginnings on October 2nd, 1990 and the summer of 1996, it worked for several small companies of fight, including the Bay Area Wrestling, the World Wrestling Association, the Catch Wrestling Alliance, the New Japan Pro Wrestling, the Smoky Mountain Wrestling (where it was briefly implied in a named team “The Thrillseekers” with Lance Storm) and the Extreme Championship Wrestling, where it briefly held the belt of the television of the world of ECW (ECW World Television Championship). He also fought once for the Free Consejo Mundial de Lucha, oldest promotion in the professional fight.

World Championship Wrestling

Jericho made its first appearance with the WCW in the month of August 1996. It carried out its first combat against Alex Wright on August 26th, 1996. It appeared with its first Pay-Per-View (Fall Brawl) on September 15th, 1996 against Chris Benoit.

1997

Jericho had a success very early in the WCW. June 28th, 1997, Jericho has demolishes Syxx with Los Angeles in California, to gain the title of the light weights of WCW (WCW Cruiserweight Championship) for the first time. It lost the title against Alex Wright on July 28th, 1997 for then regaining it second once on August 12th, 1997 against Alex Wright with the Colorado Springs, in the state of the Colorado, the United States. It has it then reperdu against Eddie Guerrero on August 12th, 1997 with Winston-Salem, in North Carolina, the United States.

1998

Jericho begins its way of bad lot when it gained the title of light weights of the world of WCW (WCW Cruiserweight Championship) for the third time while gaining against Rey Misterio Jr. on January 24th, 1998 in Pay-Per-View Souled Out by forcing it to give up vis-a-vis its “Liontamer”. After the combat, Jericho makes attack on the knee of Misterio with a toolbox. Misterio needed six months of rehabilitation before going up on the arena.

Then, Jericho had a small competition against Juventud Guerrera. Guerrera unceasingly required a match for the title of the Light Weights of the World of the WCW, but was constantly refused by Jericho, which resulted from it from a Titer match against Mask in Pay-Per-View SuperBrawl VIII on February 22nd, 1998 in San Francisco, in California, in the United States. Guerrera lost the match and was forced to remove its mask. According to this match, Jericho would have begun its “gimmick” to collect and carry in the arena of the significant items of its adversaries, such as the mask of Guerrera and clothing hawaïen of Prince Iaukea.

Then, Jericho began a long competition with Dean Malenko in which one saw Jericho constantly claiming to be a higher fighter while constantly refusing to fight Malenko. A long part of this competition was that Dean Malenko, due to masterly techniques of fight, was known like “the man with the 1000 catches”. During their competition, Jericho started to claim to be “the man with the 1004 catches”. During an episode of WCW Monday Nitro, after having overcome Marty Jannetty, Jericho left a long list paper in which it méticuleusement listed each of the 1004 catches that it knew and started to recite them to the spectators. The list was so remarkable that each named catches were is a " ARM bar" or a false setting with a made up name can such as for example famous “Saskatchewan Spinning Nerve Hold” (the catch of rotation of nerve of Saskatchewan). Curiously, this list was the first to mention the name of “Moss Covered Three Handled Family Credenza”, which later, was adopted like a name of movement by Perry Saturn, but the name was not retained a long time. It also should be noted that the first time that Jericho quoted this word, it did not say credenza, but rather said “crenduzal” or “gredunzal”, but the word used is now “credenza”.

In an episode of WCW Thunder, Malenko is presented to demolish Jericho. Jericho proved to carry the mask of Guerrera, at this point in time the whole was revealed for then being made corrupt by Lenny Lane, with which it had a small competition. March 15th, 1998, in Pay-Per-View Uncensored, Jericho finally fought Malenko and gained the combat, which forced Malenko to go away from the professional fight. Jericho thus then brought with him in the arena a portrait of Malenko. He insulted it and humiliated on several occasions.

Right before Pay-Per-View Slamboree 1998 on May 17th, J.J. Dillion (called “OJ OJ” by Jericho) programmed a battle royal of light weight in which gaining the right will have immediately to fight Jericho for the title of the light weights of the world (Cruiserweight Title). Jericho accepted, because “it which will fight it, this one does not matter will almost not have energy to fight twice on line”, Jericho said. Right before the combat, Jericho left to announce the candidates in the royal battle in an insulting getup and it is turned over in back of the stage to have a coffee. The battle was gained by that which proved Cyclops after Juventud Guerrera gave the hand to Cyclops and that it was eliminated itself. But makes some, Cyclops, gaining it, proves with being disguised Malenko which carried out a return. Malenko beat Jericho to be acquired title.

The whole carried out Jericho to claim to be a victim of a neat plan designed to make him lose the belt. He first of all blamed the other fighters, then added J.J. Dillion and Ted Turner. It also made circulate a famous label in the surroundings of Washington with the sign of a “victim of a plot” by adding president Bill Clinton to the list of the plotters after being rejected of a meeting.

One moment given to Washington, Jericho is presented to look at some books with the bookstore of the congress. Those were announced by Jericho to have been the books of the national payments of the alliance of the fight (National Wrestling Alliance rulebooks), in which an angle starts where that one sees Jericho claiming that under chapter 11, section 5, paragraph 8 of the book of the payments of the NWA of 1934, also known under the name of the “clause Killer Kowalski” (Killer Kowalski Clause). This cause says that, as a champion, it must know in advance exactly against which it must fight. Since Dean Malenko was not in the list of the participants of the royal battle, it cannot thus be made it possible to gain the royal battle. Thus the title is given by defect to Jericho. Possibly, Malenko put the vacant belt so that Jericho stops speaking and so that it can fight it another time. Jericho has demolishes Malenko in Pay-Per-View Great American Bash on June 14th, 1998 to gain the vacant title after Malenko was disqualified to have to strike Jericho with a chair. The next evening, it was suspended for its acts.

In Pay-Per-View Bash At The Beach on June 12th, 1998, Jericho was beaten by Rey Misterio Jr., which carried out a return after its wound to the knee, in a combat without disqualification when Malenko, always suspended, has to interfere.

However, the following night, is on July 13rd, 1998, Jericho recovered the title of light weights (Cruiserweight Championship) against Rey Misterio Jr. after having stopped J.J. Dillion. Dillion was on the point of giving the title to Misterio. Jericho quickly stopped both. It quotes a payment of the NWA stipulating that if a suspended fighter interferes in a combat, the combat is declared as being null, thus the title returned by defect to Jericho revealing that if it had gained or lost, the combat itself was made null.

Possibly, Jericho lose the title of light weights against Juventud Guerrera in Road Wild 1998 with Dean Malenko like special referee. August 10th, 1998, Jericho demolishes Stevie Ray to gain the title of the world of the television of the WCW (WCW World Television Championship), for which Stevie Ray substituted the champion Booker T.

Little time afterwards, Jericho wanted to begin a competition with the champion heavy trucks from the world of WCW (WCW World Heavyweight Champion) Goldberg, by constantly inviting it to come on the arena. Goldberg never answered the calls positively. Jericho started to call “Greenberg” and received its own entourage of safety named “Ralphus and the Jericho Holic Ninja” to ridicule the entries of Goldberg.

In Pay-Per-View Fall Brawl on September 13rd, 1998, Jericho, Ralphus and the Ninjas take part in the famous scene where before coming on the arena, they tried to retort the guided entry of Goldberg of the cloakroom, but lost themselves on several occasions. At a certain point, Jericho howls “Rock'n'roll! Hello Winston-Salen” in reference to a similar scene of documentary “This Is Spinal Tap”. When finally Jericho found the entry to imitate fires of Goldberg, the result was so bad that Jericho unhafted them and boots. Then, a dwarf of 4 feet and half disguised as a Goldberg are assembled on the arena and were easily demolishes by Jericho which said to have 1-0 against Goldberg to break his unconquered sequence. The whole occurred 3 other times and Jericho proclaimed to have done one 4-0 against Goldberg. Once, thinking never of not having to fight truth, Jericho expected to see the dwarf, Goldberg truth emerges with the dwarf on his shoulders causing the escape of Jericho. Afterwards, Jericho proclaims the victory against Goldberg by “countout”, no matter what the combat never had place and Jericho was that which was except arena.

November 30th, 1998, Jericho lost the title of television against Konnan.

1999

Jericho began the year 1999 with a competition with Perry Saturn. The competition was seen to be essential several strange stipulations. Most famous remainder that in Pay-Per-View Souled Out, in which Jericho has demolishes Saturn in “loser of the combat must wear a dress”. In SuperBrawl IX, Jericho and Saturn fought in a match out of dress. Once again, Jericho has demolishes Perry Saturn. Saturn has finally demolishes Jericho with Uncensored in a combat “collar of dog” (Dog Collar Match has).

Towards the end of its career to the WCW, Jericho its character beyond statute of “midcard expresses its dissatisfaction with its failure to raise”.

World Wrestling Federation

Jericho alternated between the WCW and Japan before its beginnings with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). The advertisement of its future arrival to the federation was a clock named “countdown about the new millenium”, cash the number of weeks before its arrival. On the video house “Station-wagon the Walls Down”, Jericho was inspired by its State. It was inspired to make its video of entry of them when it saw a similar clock in a cabinet. Vince McMahon gave him green light to use it like its introduction for the WWF. The clock finally fell to zero on August 9th, 1999 to Chicago in the state from the Illinois while The Rock was in the arena making a promotion. Jericho, into malicious, entered the arena and proclaimed itself “Y2J”. The Rock verbally made fun of him for its interruption.

2000

Chris Jericho had a competition with Chyna for the intercontinental title (Intercontinental Championship). This competition with Chyna lasted several months, including a discussed decision. This decision was that during a combat, two different referees declared one two gaining it of the combat for the intercontinental belt on January 31st, 2000. The result is that they became the joint owners of the title until time that Jericho becomes about it the single owner in Pay-Per-View Royal Rumble in January 2000. It lost the title against Kurt Angle on February 27th in Pay-Per-View No Way Out.

April 2nd, 2000, Jericho took part in its very first WrestleMania in a combat with three against Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle. Angle entered as a European champion (WWF European Championship) and an intercontinental champion (WWF Intercontinental Championship). The first man to be gained by one fallen or tender will be declared champion intercontinental. The second to be gained by one fallen or tender will be declared champion European. Jericho was beaten in first by Benoit, but later, Jericho did one fallen on Benoit, to acquire the European title. Jericho will lose the title the following day against Eddie Guerrero with RAW after Chyna was turned over against him to be with dimensions of Guerrero, saying that it could not resist the charm of Latino.

April 17th, 2000 in an edition of RAW, Chris Jericho beat Triple H in a combat for the title of the Heavy trucks of the World of WWF (WWF Championship). The referee, Earl Hebner, made a very fast account when Jericho did one fallen on Triple H, with the result that Jericho gained the title. After several weeks of attack on the referee Earl Hebner, Triple H said to him that if it reverses the decision, it would touch it never again as long as it is under contract. After Hebner reversed the decision, it returned Hebner and made him attack.

After this discussed decision, Jericho had a competition against Chris Benoit. May 4th, 2000 in an edition of Smackdown, Jericho has détait Benoit to become the Intercontinental champion for the second time, but again lost it against Benoit four days later with RAW.

The popularity of Jericho went up out of arrow when it began a competition against Triple H and his wife Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley. The amateurs took pleasure in his promotion against Stephanie. For example, it balanced insults to him as by calling it “dirty pétasse mangeuse basic of bag of dustbin” (has dirty, bottom-feeding trash-bag Ho). He played of the turns with Triple H more once and he even helped Brooklyn Brawler (famous “a jobber”) to gain a combat against the champion of the WWF. This competition finished in Pay-Per-View Fully Loaded, when they fought in “Last Man Standing Match”. Jericho lost the combat by only one second.

Jericho passed the remainder of the year to have a competition with X-CAP and Kane. It gained “Last Man Standing Match” against Kane with Armageddon.

2001

In Royal Rumble 2001, Jericho has demolishes Chris Benoit in a combat of scales to gain the Intercontinental title for the third time. This time, he was a champion dominating, combatant against X-CAP, Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero. In Wrestlemania X-Seven, it defended its title successfully against William Regal. On the other hand, Jericho lost the title four days later against Triple H.

In the month of May 2001 in Pay-Per-View Judgment Day, Jericho and Benoit gained a combat by team “Tag TEAM Turmoil” which gives them the right to fight the current champions, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Triple H, for the championship by team (WWF Tag TEAM Championship) the evening following with RAW. Benoit and Jericho gained the combat and Jericho became champion by team for the first time. The duet lost their titles one month later against the Dudley Boyz on June 19th, 2001.

In the following months, Jericho will become a major force in “the invasion” in which the World Wrestling Championship (WCW) and the Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) are allied against the WWF. Jericho wants to remain side of the WWF and to keep a statute as nice. On the other hand, little by little the signs of a transfer towards the malicious one (heel turn) became obvious when Jericho started to show jealousy towards his/her comrade of the WWF, The Rock.

The Rock made remind the Jericho that it gained forever “largest” (a championship of the world) and described Jericho like a “act of comedy”. Jericho faced The Rock in a combat in Pay-Per-View of the WWF No Mercy for the title Heavy truck of the World of WCW (WCW World Heavyweight Championship) after Jericho beat Rob Van Damm in a combat of candidate #1. Jericho finally gained this combat after having done one fallen on The Rock with a negligent intervention from Stephanie McMahon and a chair. This victory is the first victory of a championship Heavy trucks of a federation for Y2J. The next evening, the two men put their different from dimensioned and gained the title by team of WWF (WWF Tag TEAM Championship) against Dudley Boyz of the ECW. By gaining this combat, Jericho became champion of the title by team of the WWF and champion Heavy truck of the world of the WWF. After having lost their titles against Test and Booker T, they continued their competition. With the edition of RAW of November 5th, The Rock has demolishes Jericho to regain the title Heavy truck of the World of the WCW with a “rollup” surprised. After the combat, Jericho wildly attacked The Rock with a chair, which marks a turning towards malicious the Jericho (heel turn) which will remain for two years. In Survivor Series, Jericho almost made cost the combat The Rock and a victory of the WWF in a combat of elimination by still attacking The Rock.

December 9th, 2001 with Vengeance, Chris Jericho has demolishes The Rock for its title Heavy truck of the World of the WCW, and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin for its title Heavy trucks of the World of the WWF, in the same evening to become the very first fighter to hold the two titles at the same time, which makes of it the very first uncontested champion of WWF (WWF Undisputed Champion). This is regarded as the greatest achievement of Jericho. It did not only link the title of the WCW and the WWF, but it did it against two men who were regarded as the best fighters of this period the same evening.

World Wrestling Entertainment

According to a lawsuit, World Wrestling Federation changed its name for World Wrestling Entertainment.

2002

Jericho fought against The Rock and Steve Austin on various occasions and kept its title in Pay-Per-View following. It beat The Rock in Royal Rumble and beat Steve Austin with No Way Out with the assistance of the nWo (New World Order).

Jericho however lost the title against Triple H in the “hand vent” of WrestleMania X8. After this defeat, Jericho became a member of the cloakroom of Smackdown and continued its competition with Triple H. the competition culminated in Judgment Day when Triple H has demolishes Jericho in a combat “Hell in has Cell”. Jericho also had a small competition against Hulk Hogan.

Little time afterwards, Jericho was fished out again with RAW. As of its arrival on July 29th, it attacked Ric Flair with a chair and at the end of the emission, Jericho proclaimed that RAW is Jericho (RAW IS JERICHO). Since Jericho tackled Flair with a chair, a small competition was born between the two. Thereafter, Jericho gained the Intercontinentale belt against Rob Van Damm on September 16th for fifth once. It then made team with Christian to gain the titles by team against The Hurricane and Kane on October 14th, 2002.

November 17th, in Pay-Per-View Survivor Series, Jericho took part in the very first combat “Elimination Chamber” in company of Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Booker T, Rob Van Damm and Kane for the title Heavy truck of the World of the WWE. Shawn Michaels gained the combat.

In Armageddon, on December 15th, 2002, Jericho and Christian lost their titles by team against Booker T and Goldust in a combat with 4 teams also including Dudley Boyz and the team of Lance Storm and William Regal.

2003

Jericho began the year 2003 with a competition with Shawn Michaels.

January 13rd, 2003, Jericho gained a combat “over-tea-signal-rope” (to eliminate its adversary, you must make it pass over the third cord and that it touches the ground) against Kane, Rob Van Damm and Batista to choose their number of entry for Royal Rumble. Jericho chose the number two to begin the battle with Shawn Michaels, which had already taken the number one. In Royal Rumble on January 19th, 2003, Jericho eliminated Michaels after him to have given a blow of chair. Jericho was eliminated by Test after an interference by Michaels. Jericho said in interview that Shawn Michaels was its idol when it was young and even got dressed like him. This returned to him to a match in WrestleMania XIX when Chris Jericho imitated several of the movements of Shawn Michaels and signs during the combat, such as the jump with the elbow of Michael and its way of being raised. Afterwards, it made pauses for the public by using the installations of HBK. It also made “Swin Chin Music” similar which it delivered to Shawn, but at the end, Michaels avoided the movement and it made a small package “rollup” to gain. Jericho had the last word by giving a blow under the belt after the combat after they were mutually caught in the arms.

Jericho also had competitions against Jeff Hardy and Test. Jericho also began its show “The Highlight Reel” on April 28th by inviting Goldgerg there, but this one never came. After a few weeks, Jericho faced Goldberg with Bad Blood on June 15th. Goldberg easily carried it.

August 4th, after Rob Van Damm beat Jericho in a combat, Jericho launched a challenge to Kevin Nash for a combat “Hair against hair” (To hate vs Hair Match). August 18th, Jericho gained the combat and Nash left the arena with the short hair.

October 27th, Jericho has demolishes Rob Van Damm by tender for the Intercontinental title for sixth once in an edition of RAW on October 27th, 2003. However Steve Austin, the manager, ordered an immediate rematch in a cage, which was gained by RVD. Jericho was in the team of Bishoff in Survivor Series and the team had success while gaining.

Later in the year 2003, Jericho was found implied with Trish Stratus. It takes a challenge with his friend Christian, that anyone which will have Trish Stratus or Lita, will receive a Canadian dollar. In Armageddon 2003, Jericho and Christian have demolishes Stratus and Lita, but Jericho fell for Trish. Jericho tried to be excused, but Trish did not buy them.

2004

In WrestleMania XX, Christian had the top on Jericho when Trish Stratus was turned over against Jericho. Jericho beat Trish Stratus and Christian in a match handicap in Backlash. Several weeks later, Jericho has demolishes Christian in a match out of cage.

Jericho continued the year with a competition against Christian, Tyson Tomko and Trish Stratus. Christian was wounded with the current of the year, but Jericho continued the competition against the two others. The competition started again when Christian carried out a return on August 30th, 2004.

Jericho again monopolized Intercontinental belt on September 12th, 2004 when Jericho has demolishes Christian in a combat of scale (Ladder Match) for the Intercontinental title which was, at this period, vacant. Jericho became for seventh once, Intercontinental champion, which makes of it the record of the greatest number of times than a fighter held the Intercontinentale belt. Jericho lost the title with Taboo Tuesday against Shelton Benjamin. In the edition of the following RAW, Jericho lost again against Benjamin, but respect at the end of the combat showed him.

2005

In New Years Revolution, Jericho took part in “Elimination Chamber Match” against Triple H, Batista, Randy Orton and Edge with Shawn Michaels as a referee. Triple H gained the combat.

April 23rd with WrestleMania 21, Jericho took part in the very first “Money In The Bank Ladder Match”. The concept was suggested by Jericho. He faced against the champion Intercontinental Shelton Benjamin, Chris Benoit, Kane, Christian and Edge. In spite to have proposed the combat, it was demolishes with everyone when Edge recovered the bag.

Chris Jericho took part in Pay-Per-View of the ECW One Night Stand on June 12th, 2005. It was demolishes by Lance Storm. Thereafter, Jericho east still returned malicious while being turned over against the champion of the WWE John Cena. It lost against Cena in a combat of championship in SummerSlam. The evening following in an edition of RAW, Jericho dealt with Cena again, but this time, it was a “You' Re fired Match”, where the loser is made return. Cena gained again and Eric Bischoff returned a Jericho begging it. Jericho was made escort out of the arena by safety.

2007-sound return

In September 2007 during an edition of RAW, WWE starts diffused a video showing a series of data-processing codes resembling vaguely those found in the film the Matrix. Only one thing is clearly visible on this video: the message SAVE_US.222 . The video is rejouée several times thereafter with some small modifications of week in week. Randy Orton explains to the fans that this torch represents the career of Shawn Michaels and when it arrives at him at the emission, he will extinguish it and sound the end of a career of the Heart Break Kid . The runner arrives as envisaged towards the end of the emission, but when it enters the slides since the parking it receives a clothesline of an all-in wrestler who had hidden. Then it video finale of countryside SAVE_US reveals finally the answer:

  • X+1=Y , J=9+1 , 2ND COMING puit SAVE_US.X29 appears on the screen and is transformed into SAVE_US. Y2J .

After a calculation of 10, Chris Jericho appears finally with the great joy of the spectators! He announces in Randy Orton that he wants the championship of the WWE and when he takes again " to him; Monday Night RAW, the WWE the universe itself will be never again, never, NEVER like avant".

Next Monday, Chris Jericho has faced Santino Marella in its first combat for more than two years. After a promotion where Jericho requires of Randy Orton to give him a combat of championship and a interuption of Marella, Jericho obtains finally the victory thanks to its new catch of completion: the Codebreaker . Jericho will return later in the evening during the principal event by helping Ric Flair prolonged its career. By distracting the referee and Randy Orton, Jericho indeed allowed the " Dirtiest Player in the Game" to strike a low blow in Orton for the victory.
