Chevrolet Uplander

The Chevrolet Uplander is a American Monospace . It is manufactured by division Chevrolet of General Motors, for the Canada and the the United States.

Characteristics

Introduced into the range in 2005, it replaces Astro and the Venture (on which it is strongly based). It uses the same platform as the Saturn Relay, the Buick Terraza, and the Pontiac Montana SV6. There are very few differences between the four vehicles of this platform. The most significant difference is the offer of a seat baby integrated in Uplander LS and that on the US market Uplander is proposed in two different lengths and a version cargo liner. The margins of price go from 21250$ to 33795$ (of 16200€ with 25800€) according to the options. Uplander is exported with the Canada, Chile and Mexico.

Uplander exploits an engine V6 3.5L developing 200 horses (149 kw, 298 N.m). This vehicle is produced close to Atlanta, Georgia. The November 21st 2005, General Motors announced that the mark would close the factory of assembly of Doraville, Georgia, which produces Uplander, in 2008

The 4 monospaces divide the same platform and are delivered with a car radio CD/MP3. Uplander and the vehicles of the same range have the same style and try the style conveys mongrel which is popular.

Safety

According to the Institute of Insurances for the Road safety (equivalent of the EuroNCAP), the Chevrolet Uplander obtains better results with the crash landing-tests that its predecessor, the Venture.

Future

General Motors was supposed to redraw the monospaces (including Uplander) for 2010; but because of the decline of the monospaces in the United States, the project was abandoned. In the place, General Motors will conceive a mongrel 4x4 for Chevrolet based on the concept of the Chevrolet Sequel.
