Places and monuments
Two principal monuments are to be visited in Chaudardes: the church and the laundrette. First is classified historic building since 1919. It is not constantly open and it is necessary to get information with the town hall (open Monday after midday) to enter there. The second monument, the laundrette, was formerly the place where the women came to wash their linen. You will be able to see there a statue of the Virgin Mary, classified historic building because one still sees there traces of the color of origin.
In addition to its two monuments, you will be able to also see the vault which is behind the laundrette but which is not worth visiting any more (question of security). To visit the cemetery around the church, to admire a statue representing the Virgin Mary and the Jesus child on the place of the village, right before returning in the cemetery, going at the edge of Aisne or to see the ruins of a bridge which made it possible to connect Chaudardes to the village of Concevreux, on the other side of the river, but which was destroyed during the First World War.
