Charente Limousine

The Charente Limousine corresponds to the first buttresses of the Massif Central, granitic, while coming from the Atlantic. It is of language occitane, like the the close Limousin, and contrary to the remainder of the Charente and the Poitou-Charentes.

Charente Limousine corresponds roughly speaking to the Arrondissement of Confolens.

Its altitude is relatively low (150 to 350 m), although higher than the remainder of Charente.

Tourism is under development full with the Lacs of High-Charente (Lavaud and Farmhouse-Chaban).
