Squall Leonhart

Squall is the main character of Final Fantasy VIII . It is an officer of SeeD, the unit of elite of the military University of Balamb. Considered for its antisocial character, it seems egoistic and appears to lack team spirit. Distant character who does not like that the others are interfered its business, the solitary expression wolf agrees to him perfectly. Squall, like the majority of the main characters, was high in an orphanage by Cid and Edea on Centra. He does not remember this stage of his life because he used GF, invocations which can make lose the memory. At that time, it was very close to a named girl Elonne who was like her big sister. When it left the orphanage, Squall was saddened. Since this time, he refuses to precisely socialize to avoid being wounded émotionellement. Its symbol, the Lion, which is engraved on its ring, is called " Griever" (in French: sadness, suffering…) and will be famous Cronos. Its ultimate weapon, Lionheart, bears its name consequently well…
Linoa Heartilly

Linoa is an young woman full with life which with the capacity of touching the heart of people. She likes Seifer first of all then will choose Squall, believer that Seifer died in the combat. Quistis Trepe
Officer of SeeD as of the 15 years age, Quistis is from now on the instructrice of Squall and his comrades of the BGU. Contrary to its calm and daring appearances, it is known to have evil to face its disappointments. An unimportant problem is translated sometimes at it by an excessive discouragement.
Zell Dincht
Zell is an incredible specialist in martial arts. To the BGU since the 13 years age, he aspires to being soldier as his grandfather who was it formerly. Its actions are guided by impulse than by reflection. However, it is at the bottom an honest young man who approaches the things seriously. Although its " mère" he reveal that it is not her natural mother, it will put even more heat to protect it. It dedicates a great admiration with Squall and will undoubtedly be most faithful of his friends.
Irvine Kinneas
Marksman of the military University of Galbadia, Irvine is known to be the “best gunner of the university”. Its reputation of seducer is almost as famous as its address with a rifle. Although it seems to be indifferent, frivolous and sure of him with the first access, it sensitive and serious, sometimes even is actually timoré in front of its duty (it will take fear for example when it must draw with the rifle with telescopic sight on Edea at the time of the parade with Deling City).
Selphie Tilmitt
Because of its innocent appearance and its light personality, Selphie does not seem to be in its place in a military academy. Its carefree temperament and its relaxed attitude tend to put his/her friends on their guards. It chairs the Steering Committee of the annual festival of the BGU, and does not cease asking Squall its support to implement it… It also holds a diary (not if close friend that), consultable on the internal network of the BGU.

Edea Kramer
It is the wife of Cid Kramer, the director of Balamb Garden University. She appears in the play with the head of the dictatorship of Galbadia, but its role seems deeply related to the destiny of the main characters. She will appear later new priestess, and especially under the influence of " Ultimecia" , a capacity unknown but certainly immense, which to take thereafter Rinoa in the place of Edea.
Seifer Almasy
A candidate in SeeD. Although he is a naturally gifted soldier and talented fencer, its incapacity to obey the orders and to control themselves was worth to him a reputation of teenager with problem. Although he recognizes and admires qualities of Squall, he regards it as his larger rival.Seifer is orphan, it is thus raised with the Orphanage of Edea Kramer where it lives at the sides of Squall, Selphie, Irvine, Quistis and Zell.
Friend of Linoa, it decides to help it in the search of the owls of the forest. But grayed by the capacity it is made knight of the Edea witch, then of Ultimécia, the witch of the future. He will be refused like SeeD, and will become the " then; chevalier" of Edea, the malefic priestess (at the beginning) being opposed to Squall and his/her companions of many times. He is overcome by Gilgamesh, the transformation of Odin.

Laguna the Loire
Ex-soldier reconverted as a journalist, Laguna is a voluntary man equipped with an incredible energy. He helps the weak ones and is opposed to oppression. Using its feather like a formidable instrument of justice, it will protest against all the evils of the world, reaching much more than the title of journalist. He is president d' Esthar, immense city which he will save of Adel, its former tyrant.When Squall and its friends carry out their tour, he became the president of the extra-technological country Esthar. He was formerly accompanied in the troops by Galbadia by his friends Kiros and Ward with which he put himself in the funny ones of situations, he fought, then, armed with a machine-gun.
Laguna appears initially in the form of dream when the hero of Final Fantasy VIII, Squall, is plunged in an artificial sleep at the time of a voyage. Several times during the play, Squall dreams of the adventures of Laguna, seventeen years before, and it is only towards the end of the history that it meets it.
Many things show the bonds between Laguna and the members of the group of hero. Laguna is " the oncle" of Ellone, and it was in love with Julia, which is the mother of Linoa Heartilly, but its heart will turn to Raine, an young woman of Winhill. Many indices, of which especially dialog of Squall with Ward and Kiros in presidential palace of Esthar would show that Laguna is the father of Squall, which would have been put then at the orphanage, after the death of Grooves.
Kiros Seagill
Ex-soldier of Galbadia and comrade in arms of Laguna and Ward, it with the black skin, fights with two blades and plays a part of interpreter with respect to Ward, it will become minister of Esthar thereafter.
Ward Zabac
Ex-soldier of Galabadia, it composed, with Laguna and Kiros, a unit of soldiers galbadiens, it fights with enormous a Harpon which enables him to use its imposing breadth with its advantage. Cid Kramer is the director of the B.G.U (Balamb Garden University) but also the husband of Edea. It will name Squall as chief of the SEED to the head of the operations against the battle with Edea.
