Championship of France of Rugby Pro D2 2003-04

The article presents the season 2003-04 of the Championship of France of Rugby Pro D2 which is the anteroom of the elite, the SIGNAL 16. The team classified at the head is promoted automatically to play in the Top 16,

The club finishing 1st at the conclusion of the preliminary phase is promoted in the 1st division.

At the conclusion of the preliminary phase, the classified clubs from 1 to 4 are qualified for the 1/2 finales on neutral ground, like the final. The club which gains finally is declared champion of France and reaches the 1st division. If the club which finishes 1st preliminary phase gains the final, it would be the club having finished 2nd preliminary phase which is promoted.

The 2 last go down in the 1st federal division.

The teams of Bordeaux-Bègles and Périgueux are relegated into Federal 1 and are replaced by the new ones promoted: Stage of Bordeaux and Country of Aix.

In addition relegated Colomiers of the Pro D1 as a Pro D2 is retrogressed into federal 1 by the National management of Assistance and Control of Management (DNACG), this releases a place as a Pro D2 who allows Périgueux to be fished out.
