Chérusques
The Chérusques (Latin Cherusci ) are a powerful Germanic nation at the time of the ancient Rome, established in the area of the Weser (between the Elba and the forest of Teutoburg). Mentioned by César and submitted to the Romans in the year 12 av. J. - C., they were raised with the call of Arminius, they destroyed three Roman legions, they took a big part in the fight against the Roman domination, took part in rising against Varus in year 9 and against Germanicus in 15 and 16 a.
