Chémery-les-Deux

Chémery-les-Deux is a common French, located in the department of the the Moselle and the basin of life of the Moselle-is.

Geography

History

In the beginning stronghold of the Dukes of Lorraine, Chémery depended to some extent of prévôté of Sierck and the Court of Perl.

Y are equipped in 1130 the Abbey with Freistroff and 1604 the Abbey with Bouzonville, without forgetting the omnipresence of the Abbey of Villers-Bettnach.

In XVIe, the abbot of Freistroff, Didier de Colligny, founds a new village located along the road leading of Bouzonville to Thionville.

The coexistence of the two villages will pose some problems and will require a treaty in 1579.

Being called Soneberich in 1130. Territory of the Cistercian abbey of Villers-Bettnach. Chémery-the-old woman is quoted with 13th; Chémery-the-new founded in 1570. An old castle with drawbridge was used as presbytery with 18th.
