Cemetery of Gonards
The Cimetière of Gonards was open in 1879 on a property of 130.000 m ² to Versailles. It has more than 12.000 tombs.
Several personalities are buried there:
- Marc Allégret, (1900-1973), realizer
- Louis Blériot, (1872-1936), aviator
- Pierre-Napoleon Bonaparte (1815-1881)
- Gabriel Monod (1844-1912), historian
- Robert de Montesquiou-Fézensac (1855-1921), poet
- Armand Renaud (1836-1895), poet
- Edith Wharton (1862-1937), American writer
One can see the vault Devos-Logie and Mirand-Devos there conceived by the architect Hector Guimard in 1894.
