Celebrates Jonquils of Gérardmer
Created in 1935 on the initiative of friendly the motorcylcist of Gérardmer, the Fête of the Jonquils takes place on average every two years in April, period of flowering of the “jonquil”, unsuitable name of a flower which is actually the yellow Narcisse. It is the occasion for Gérômois to celebrate one of the symbols of their city.
Mainly marked by the Corso flowered of Sunday during which 20 to 30 tanks ravel (decorated with jonquils and natural elements resulting from the forests of the area), the festival of the jonquils begins actually the day before by the " piquage" tanks, i.e. the preparing of the metal carcasses of the tanks by the jonquils, activity to which are invited all the good wills of passage, the whole in a friendly and festive environment.
But for the " constructeurs" tanks and other organizers, the Festival of the Jonquils begins much earlier, from 3 to 9 months before the date of the procession, because for these impassioned, the festival actually finishes at the time of the departure of the corso.
