Cathedral Saint-Pierre-and-Saint-Paul de Troyes
The Saint-Pierre-and-Saint-Paul cathedral of Troyes was built 13th at the 17th century and comprises five naves. The very worked frontage date of the beginning of the 16th century. Three gates are due to the architect Martin de Chambiges. It comprises in particular exceptional stained glasses of XIIIe at the 19th century, the treasure with the mounting of saint Bernard de Clairvaux.
Dimensions: 114 meters length for 50 broad, with a height under vault of 28,50 meters. Height of the cupola and the tower: 62,34 meters. 1500 m ² of canopies. Only the tower Pierre saint exists, the tower Paul saint built forever.
It is interesting to note that the golden section appears at many places in this cathedral. As follows:

History
In 1129, the Champagne knight Hugues de Payns, chief of the militia of the poor knights of Christ in Jerusalem, went to occident to take part on January 13rd, with the Concile of Troyes thus named because it was held in the cathedral Saint-Pierre-and-Saint-Paul de Troyes. Many eminent personalities were present:
- the cardinal Mathieu d' Albano, Legate of the Pope in France,
- archbishops of Rheims and Direction, like ten their bishops Suffragan S,
- four abbots cistercians (those of Cîteaux, Clairvaux, Pontigny and Troisfontaines),
- two abbots clunisiens (those of Molesmes and Vézelay),
- two canons,
- two Masters and a secretary.
- Thibaut IV of Blois, count of Champagne,
- Andre de Baudement, Seneshal of the Champagne county,
- Guillaume II, count of Nevers, Auxerre and Thunder.
This council led to the creation of the Ordre of the Temple and equipped it with a clean rule.
