Catalan Socialist party
The Catalan Socialist party (in Catalan, PSC (Left dels Socialistes Catalunya, litt. the Party of the Socialists of Catalonia) is a Political party of Catalogne, of type Social-démocrate, member of the European Socialist party and which has an alliance permante, at the time of the Spanish legislative elections with PSOE.
Pasqual Maragall I Reflected, former mayor of Barcelona and 127e president of the Généralité of Catalonia, was leading until the end of May the 2007, date on which he announces his resignation (retirement).
Three appointed European since 2004, of which the president of the the European Parliament: Josep Borrell, Raimon Obiols and Maria Badia.
Since the elections of March 2004, it has of 21 Député S with the the Spanish Cortes and 37 deputies with the Parlement of Catalonia.

History
The PSC results from fusion between the Partit Socialista Catalunya-Congress, the Partit Socialista de Catalunya-Reagrupament and the Catalan federation of PSOE.
