The castle of the Sagathy is in Two-Sevres on the commune of Vasles

history

The castle of the Sagathy, located on the commune of Vasle (79) belongs to the family of the same name since 1123. Invested by the English, besieged by Huguenots, the castle probably strengthened in XIIIe century is sold like national good then repurchased in 1850 by the daughter-in-law of the former owner, emigrated on banks of the Rhine. Its descendant will alter the building while making cut down the two bodies of commun runs which closed the court. To the XIXe century, work is entrusted to the Boyer architect who sets up the vault in a neo-gothic style (1856-1882). The oldest body of the castle includes/understands a home of XVe century, framed of two turns. Wells, traditional garden, sundials, grids, feeding trough-foot bath, hedge and kitchen garden decorate the unit.
