Cartilage epiglottic
The cartilage epiglottic takes part in the formation of the Larynx. It with the shape of a sheet whose branch fits in the notch of the thyroid Cartilage.
The moving part is directed to the top in a basal state, which allows the Respiration by letting the air circulate between the Pharynx and the larynx.
During the Déglutition, the moving part can rock behind, which takes part in the occlusion of the larynx. This occlusion prevents occurred of false route (Inhalation) and directs the bolus of the pharynx towards the esophagus (Ingestion).
