Carole Alison James (born the December 22nd 1957 in Dukinfield, in England) is a political woman Canadian. She is currently the chief of the Official opposition to the legislative Assemblée of the Colombia-British and chief of the Nouveau Democratic party of the Colombia-British.
James grows with North Battleford (Saskatchewan) and with Victoria (Colombia-British). She sits at the school commission of Greater Victoria of 1990 with 2001, including seven mandates as a president.
In 2001, she is elected with the legislative Parliament under the banner of the New Democratic party in the district of Vicoria-Beacon Hill. She is elected chief of the NPD the November 23rd 2003. At the time, the morals of the party is with lowest following the election of 2001, which had reduced the caucus néo-democrat with only 2 seats to the legislative Parliament. During his countryside with the nomination, James promises to modernize the ideology of the NPD and his internal structures to gain a greater electoral base, which causes however the grogne at the more traditional militants of the party.
During the general election of 2005, James is based much on his name and his image, like Ujjal Dosanjh before it. The evening of the poll, James surprises several with his very good performance of them, gaining 41,52% of the voices (a rise of 19,96% since the election of 2001) and 33 of the 79 seats to the legislative Parliament. James is elected in his own district with 57,21% of the voices, demolishing the liberal deputy outgoing Jeff Bray by a very great margin.
