Carlos Paredes
Carlos Paredes (Coïmbre, February 16th 1925 - Lisbon July 23rd 2004), the largest type-setter of Portuguese Guitar, instrument which accompanies the Fado traditionally, died the July 24th 2004 with Lisbon, at the 79 years age, of the continuations of its Myopathie.
Born the February 16th 1925 with Coïmbre (in Portuguese Coimbra), Carlos Paredes resulted from a famous family of musicians. It belongs to the generation of Portuguese artists which contributed to make known in the whole world the Fado, Portuguese traditional song. The artist is deceased at the date birthday of the birth of the diva of the fado Amália Rodrigues, missing in 1999. Civil servant in a hospital of Lisbon until the beginning of the Years 1990, Carlos Paredes had known to reconcile an community activity and his activity of musician. “ people like to hear me play of the guitar. The Portuguese artist, who recorded its first disc in 1957 and composed several film musics throughout his career, in particular inspired in 2005 the album Canto (song) of the singer of fado Mísia, anchored in the pure tradition fadist.
