Stability of the ship
The
center of hull is the center of gravity of the volume of hull.
The term is associated with another concept: the effect of
Carène liquidates , which is a displacement of liquid (being able to be compared with a displacement of suspended weights) in the direction of the movement at the time of a lodging. This harmful effect is partly eliminated with construction by the longitudinal bulk-headings from the invadable ballasts and compartments. The
metacenter of hull is the center (variable in position) of rotation of the center of hull at the time of the slopes of the ship.
