Camus (カミユ, kamyu , homage to the French writer) is the Chevalier of Gold Aquarius. He is also the Master of Hyoga. Just like the others Chevaliers of Gold it is made handle by Saga at the time of the battle of the Sanctuary, even if it does not fight against the Chevaliers of Bronze to protect Large Pope.

In order to protect Hyoga against the confrontation which would take place, it tries to lock up it in a coffin of ice in the house of the Balance. But this coffin is broken by the sword of the holy armor of the Balance which his/her friend Shiryu uses, and Hyoga must fight against its Master when it arrives later in the temple of Aquarius. In spite of their attachment, Camus and Hyoga clash until death. Camus loses the life after its pupil reached the temperature of the Absolute zero (temperature or any form of life stops) to overcome it.

To note, its friendship with Milo of the Scorpion. the relations between Gold Chevaliers are detailed very little, from where the interest of the fans for theirs.

Camus returns as a spectrum of Hadès, and fights at the sides of Saga and Shura. It uses a prohibited technique the Athena Exclamation against the Chevaliers of Gold Shaka, Mu, Milo and Aiolia. At the conclusion of the twelve hours of life that Hadès granted to him, he dies in the arms of his pupil while swearing to protect Athéna.

Camus and Camus

The homage paid to the writer Albert Camus, that Kurumada appreciated much and whose Knight of Aquarius inherited the name and nationality, probably finds his explanation in the exemplary revolt of the writer following the bombardment of Hiroshima. Indeed, on August 8th, 1945, he is the intellectual Westerner to only denounce the use of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, that is to say two days after the attack.

But one can also note a homage to the main character of the novel the Foreigner of Albert Camus. In this novel, with the beginning, the main character witnesses an execution without sourciller less of the world: he feels anything, neither for his missing mother, nor for this man who will die under his eyes, and condemned will be carried out at dawn: from where the use of Aurora Execution (execution of the dawn) for the attack of the gold knight of Aquarius.
Ce character trait was thus copied for the gold knight of Aquarius, that having a perfect command of the techniques based on the cold, in connection with the inexpressiveness of its feelings. The name of Camus is a wink with the author.

Techniques

• Diamond Dust (the Diamond dust) : vagueness of cold air launched by the hand. Its pupil control, but the cosmos of Camus makes its technique more powerful.
• Freezing Whetstone sheath (the Coffin of Ice) : Camus locks up an inanimate adversary in an extremely resistant coffin of ice. According to him, even if several Chevaliers of Gold attacked this coffin, they could not destroy it. Unless the Knight locked up inside does not produce a temperature lower than that of the coffin of ice by reaching the Absolute zero (- 273,15°Celsius = 0°Kelvin), phenomenon virtually impossible to realize even for most powerful Chevaliers of the Ices: only Hyôga, Knight of Bronze of the Swan, will reach that point, by reaching the seventh direction.
• Aurora Execution (execution of the dawn) : the artful thrust and the most terrible attack of Camus of Aquarius. It is a wave of phenomenal energy able to approach closest to the Absolute zero.

Temple

Camus keeps the Temple of the Ballot box of the Treasury ( HouBinKyuu in original version, house of Aquarius in the French version).

Voice

In original version, Camus was doubled by Rokuro Naya which was replaced by Nobutoshi Canna as from 2002. In the " dramas" inspired by the Episode G, it is Hikaru Midorikawa.

In French version, Camus is doubled by Serge Bourrier in episodes 47, 62 and 106, Marc François in episodes 46 and 63, Henry Djanik in episodes 67 and 68 as well as the part Asgard , Daniel Lafoucarde in the film '' Abel '', Sylvain Lemarie in the video game and Jean-Michel Vovk for the part Hadès .
