Cambout is a common department of the Coast-with Armor, in the area Brittany, in France.

Initially a parish before being a commune.

Previously dependant on Plumieux, the section of Holy Anne of Cambout was set up into spiritual by Monseigneur Martial, bishop of Saint-Brieuc and Tréguier under the terms of an ordinance dated September 17th, 1860.

It is the castle of Cambout, in the past strengthened, which gave its name to the new parish.

Alain Of Cambout had at the 12th century this ground which concerned the County of Porhoët.

At the time of the Revolution, Cambout still had, high, average and low justice.

The old vault of the Castle of Cambout, located in front of the large gate of the current church, was used as parish church since the erection of the section of Holy Anne of Cambout in parish, that is to say since September 17th, 1860 and this, until 1889, time of its demolition. It had been built in 1663! Before the creation of the parish, every 15 days, Sunday, a vicar of Plumieux came to say the mass to it.

The first stone of the new church was bénite on July 31st, 1887.

It by decree of the emperor Napoleon III is signed with the Palate of Tileries on January 13rd, 1866 that the section of Cambout is distracted from the commune of Plumieux to form a distinct commune whose chief town is fixed at Cambout.

It should be known that at the time all the villages joined together to constitute this new commune gave a population of: 1170 inhabitants. The village of the City-Jégu to more than 10 kilometers of the borough of Plumieux only added up with him 300 inhabitants!
