The Canal Caland (in Dutch Calandkanaal ) is a channel of the Holland-Southerner, located in the port of Rotterdam.
The channel was built parallel to the Nieuwe Waterweg, between Hoek van Holland and the port of Brittanniëhaven in the south of Rozenburg. The channel facilitates the access to the port areas and industrial of Europoort. The lock of Rozenburg allows since April 19th, 1971 the correspondence with the Canal Hartel.
The Caland Channel was named thus according to the engineer of Civil engineering Pieter Caland, person in charge for the project and the construction of the Nieuwe Waterweg.
