CJMS was a Québécois radio station diffusing on the tape AM with Montreal. It was founded on April 23rd, 1954. The frequency AM of the station was 1280 with a power of 50,000 Watts. The letters of call “CJMS” were designed starting from the currency of Quebec: “I remember”.

The station knew its hour of glory in the Années 1970, with organizers such as Yvan Ducharme, Normand Fréchette, Raymond Bernard, Michel Desrochers and Pierre Sénécal. The station was located a long time at 1700, rue Berri with Montreal. Gilles Proulx animated a very popular emission of public affair there in the Années 1980.

September 30th, 1994, the group Télémédia, owner of the station CKAC, bought several stations AM of the group Radiomutuel owner of CJMS and the Radiomédia entity was created. Six stations, whose CJMS, were closed at 18 o'clock in this same day.

In 2007, the letters of call CJMS are used by CJMS 1040 on the tape Saint-Constant AM with , in Montérégie. This new station diffuses in particular music country-western and successes of the Années 1950 with 70, emissions of public affairs, topicality, lines open and emissions of general interest.
