The standards CEI of series 62271 are relating to the electric equipment with High voltage.

A common system of classification was established for the standards falling under the responsibility for the Sub-committee 17A (switchgears with high voltage) and of the Sub-committee 17C (assemblies of equipment with high voltage) for the CEI which have in load the standards of the switchgear with high voltage.

Principle of classification

The classification of the standards follows the principle suivant
  • the common standards prepared by the SC 17A and the SC 17C starts with the CEI 62271-1
  • the standards of the SC 17A start with the CEI 62271-100
  • the standards of the SC 17C start with the CEI 62271-200
  • the guides start with number CEI 62271-300.

This principle is applicable to the new standards and those which are revised since 2000. The old standards preserve their classification.
