Sub-genus
The butterfly fish with tear of the Indian Ocean is a butterfly fish which belongs to the sub-genus Lepidochaetodon . In 1984, André Maugé and Roland Bauchot proposed to assign this species to their new kind Heterochaetodon , which would give like scientific name for this fish Heterochaetodon interruptus .
This species was confused a long time with the close species, the Poisson-papillon with tear of the Pacific.
Morphology

Size: up to 20 cm.
Its coloring is yellow with a vertical band black, narrow, passing by the eye, and a black task in the middle of the body (upwards), spot which can make think of a drop turned over water or a tear.

It is a fish which one can meet at a shallow depth, but also more deeply.
