Bullfight of Coals

The bullfight of Coals is a organized pedestrian race of 10 km each end of the year, between Christmas and the New Year's Day, in the streets of Houilles (Yvelines). The next edition, the 35e, will be held the December 26th 2006. Times of the winner are about 28 minutes.

The race, organized by the festival committee of the commune, was run on the distance of 9,6 km until 1995, before passing to the 10 km. The name of “bullfight” refers to the bullfight of Sao Paulo which takes place traditionally on December 31st. That of Coals takes place, except impossibility of calendar, last Sunday of the year.
