Bulgarian Socialist party

The Bulgarian Socialist party (in Bulgarian Българскасоциалистическапартия or БСП) is a Bulgarian Political party . He is member of the European Socialist party and member of the Internationale Socialist.

Created in 1891, under the name of Bulgarian Communist party, it is the sole party under the Communist regime. Into 1990, it is transformed. It takes the Bulgarian name of socialist party and gives up officially the Marxisme-léninisme. It is chaired since 2001 by the young person Serguei Stanichev (СергейСтанишев) and has just organized its 45e congress the April 9th 2005 with Plovdiv. The former president of the party, Gueorgui Parvanov is since January 2002 chair Republic.

In 2001, the party formed an political alliance Coalition for Bulgaria and the coalition obtained 48 Député S on 240 in the Bulgarian National Assembly (Народносъбрание or Narodno Sabranie ).

At the time of the legislative elections of the June 25th 2005, the PSB obtained the greatest number of voices (34,2% of the voters and 82 seats out of 240) but cannot control without forming coalition with the National movement Siméon II. Following intense political negociations, Stanichev reaches the station of Prime Minister the July 27th 2005.
