Bruce McCandless II is a American Astronaute born the June 8th 1937.

Biography

Flights carried out

He was member of the crew of support of the mission Apollo 14, and lining for the first live mission on Skylab.
  • February 3rd 1984: Challenger (41-B). During this flight, he was the first spationaut to carry out a free Sortie extravĂ©hiculaire, i.e. without any physical bond attaching it to the spaceship.
  • April 24th 1990: Discovery (STS-31)
