Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit Corporation
The Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit Corporation was a privately held company, with wallet, based with Brooklyn, New York, and creates in 1923, succeeding the Brooklyn Rapid Transit Company. In 1940, this company was repurchased by the town of New York, becoming in 1953 the New York City Transit Authority. The current lines resulting from the BMT are the lines J with Z. They belong to the Division B (with the IND). The principlales lines resulting from the old BMT are the Nassau Street Line (lines J, M, Z), the Broadway Line (lines NR, Q, R, W), and the Canarsie Line. (line L).
