At the beginning of the 20th century, the stockbreeders took habit to exchange reproducers to limit the Consanguinité. This practice had the double advantage of ceasing the crossings and of homogenizing the morphology of the race. Their work leads to the creation of the genealogical Livre in 1918. It gathered seven herds representing 115 cows and 16 bulls. In 1973, the creation of the association of safeguarding of the rare races (RBST=Rare Breed Survival Trust) made it possible to start again the threatened races.
