The sport in which the Mexicans were a relative international success is football. It is by far the most popular sport of the country. Each State have its own team.

In the fútbol , the most known teams are the diablos rojos of Toluca , Club América and the Chivas de Guadalajara . The most famous players are Hugo Sanchez, Claudio Suárez, Luis Hernández, Francisco Palencia, Cuauhtémoc Blanco, Jared Borgetti, Rafael Márquez, Ramón Ramírez, Jorge Campos, Omar Bravo, Ramón Morales, Oswaldo Sánchez, Oscar Pérez and Jesús Arellano.

The Mexico accommodated the Football world cup in 1970 and 1986.

The national team obtained good performance on the new continent, as during the Copa America and Copa Confederaciones. But the results in the international championships were thin. Except for the excellent participation of the national team in the world cup of less than 17 years 2005 in Peru in which they curve world champion.

The Mexican sport is also known for its boxers. Recently, the country produced champions, such as Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, Julio César Chávez, Rafael Marquez and Juan Manuel Mark.
