Brazil (magazine)
Brazil is a French monthly magazine of cinema created by Christophe Goffette in 2002, published by Bandits Company. Asserting one cinema without concession (S) , the magazine borrows its name from the film Brazil of Terry Gilliam, regarded by its creator as an absolute reference.
In January 2003, in number 4, an article entitled Besson has me to kill my cinema gave place to a legal complaint on behalf of Luc Besson for Diffamation. Besson claimed 50.000 euros of damages but was finally débouté. That did not prevent the magazine from having difficulties. Indeed, after number 20 left the September 23rd 2004, the magazine amalgamated with the magazine of rock'n'roll Crossroads . Brazil is famous for its severe criticisms, granting only little value to the productions of pure entertainment. In September 2007, the magazine makes its return in kiosk equipped with 132 pages under the name " Brazil2".
